Taxis are the Turks and Caicos Islands' most convenient and widespread form of transportation and are found on every inhabited island. Here are a few things you'll need to know when catching a ride:

  • Fares on Providenciales may be metered, but they may also be based on the number of passengers.

  • Agree on a fare before entering the taxi.

  • Taxi drivers may agree to act as daily tour guides for a set price.

  • If you are traveling with young children, bring your own safety seat, as the cab companies will not provide one for you.

Generally, fares should be set at $2(USD) per person per mile, but it's best to ask about the price ahead of time.
