Turks and Caicos Ferries

Where once it could be said that the ferry services between the Turks and Caicos islands were too few, and lacked dependability, today there are a number of ferries that visitors can choose from.

North Caicos, Providenciales, and Middle Caicos

Visitors now have the option of traveling between North Caicos and Providenciales aboard TCI Ferry.  They offer several trips daily that last 30 minutes a piece, at between $25 and $40(USD).  From here, you can travel to Middle Caicos by driving across the causeway that opened in 2007.

Grand Turk and Salt Cay

If the weather is agreeable, there is a government subsidized ferry that transports passengers between Grand Turk and Salt Cay.  The ferry travels between the two islands twice daily, once in the morning, and once in the middle of the afternoon.

You can also hire private charters to transport you between island  Many tour boat operators offer these services on the side, such as Big Blue Unlimited and J&B Tours.  Otherwise, the best way to get between islands is by flying.  As time goes on, and tourism becomes more prominent, the likelihood of more ferries offering regular services looks good.  For now, read more about TCI Ferry and the Salt Cay Grand Turk Ferry by clicking on the links below.
