Turks and Caicos' Nightlife

While there is plenty to do after dark, nightlife in Turks and Caicos is definitely more laid back than some of the other Caribbean nations like Jamaica and Puerto Rico.  This is perfect for travelers who don't take clubbing too seriously. 

The night time dress code reflects Turks and Caicos easygoing attitude towards nightlife; dress ranges from casual to resort evening attire.  If you feel like dressing up, you are certainly welcome to, but you won't be looked down upon if you don't go all out. 

Providenciales, or Provo, and Grand Turk are where visitors will find the most options for night time entertainment, including bars, clubs, casinos, and theaters. 

Providenciales

From clubs to casinos , Providenciales is the center of nightlife in Turks and Caicos. 

Nightclubs keep visitors dancing with live bands and DJs mixing music of varying genres, while often offering theme nights and house drink specials.  The BET Soundstage (formerly Stardust & Ashes)  is one such nightclub on the island, featuring live music, drinks, and slot machines.  Nikki Beach is another hot spot, where girls dance on the bars and patrons can relax in daybeds lit by tiki torches outside. 

Some of the best night time entertainment on Providenciales doesn't occur at designated bars and clubs, but at some resort hotels .  Many of the large resorts offer live music and theatrical performances, dance parties, and drink specials.  Club Med even sells passes to visitors who would like to gain access to the resort at night for wild parties, drinks, and entertainment.

Locals tend to unwind by showing up at bars more than they do nightclubs and resort functions.  You can party like the islanders by heading to Danny Buoy's , Club Sodax , or Junkanoo's Bar and Grill on game day to watch sports on big screen televisions while you imbibe, or Calico Jack's Restaurant and Bar for live music.  You can really relax into your island vacation by visiting a few facilities with marina or beach side bars and tables such as Gilley's , Tiki Hut Cabana Bar , and Magnolia Wine Bar . 

Another great night time diversion is hitting the casinos in Providenciales.  There are two in the city, the Casablanca Casino and the Players Club .  Both facilities offer nearly one hundred slot machines, as well as gaming tables such as blackjack, roulette, and craps.

Grand Turk

Nightlife on Grand Turk takes an even more laid back approach to after dark activities than Providenciales.  There are not necessarily any night clubs to speak off.  Instead, night owls head out for a few drinks and perhaps to listen to some music at a few bars.  Some of the more popular hang outs include Big Daddy's , which features weekly karaoke, Nookie Hill, which has a breath taking view, and the Salt Raker , where traditional island music can often be heard.

Officially, there are no casinos on Grand Turk, however the A Taste of the Islands restaurant has three slot machines and video poker.

Place your bet at a casino , kick back with a beer while you watch the game, or sip a fruity cocktail on the beach while swaying to the Caribbean beats of local musicians.  If you don't take club hopping too seriously, and just want a few places to relax and unwind with a good drink and great atmosphere, Turks and Caicos is the Caribbean destination for you.
